Los Angeles food Program

The Priory of California and the West are seeking funds to continue the support of a major food giveaway program again this year. Almoner Brad Harmer and Dame Tina Carey, the Director of Operations of the Grand Priory have been instrumental in funding this event with New Horizon Caregivers, located in Hacienda Heights and Heart of Compassion, located in South Whittier. Both organizations are 501 (c) (3) organizations. Last years program was very successful and resulted in providing over 50000 pounds of food and essentials for the needy and homeless of the area. The photo shows the partial line of needy and homeless recipients in the program along with a fun house for the youngsters. Logistics were of prime importance to load over 20 tons of food and move 1000 people through the project in 6 hours. It was a very rewarding experience for the members of the Order.

Florida Holiday Meals for the Needy

Our dedicated Knight Chevalier David Zarnowski has established a small but excellent program of the Order of feeding the poor and homeless in concert with The Broward Outreach Center and the Go between Mininistry. The Order fed a total of 105 individuals for the Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays in 2006. The members in Florida were fortunate to be spared another disastrous hurricane but fortunate that that the Order was available to help feed the homelss over the holidays.

God's Eyes Program

The Order of St. Stanislas has a working relationship with a wonderful program that provides prescription eyeglasses for those who have never had optometric help before. In many cases, the first really clear view of their family, loved ones and environment were provided by the God's Eye project. They do this by working closely with medical missionaries whose clinics are already established around the world. The God's Eyes program has recently obtained their 501 (c) (3) IRS classification. At the annual board meeting of the Board of Directors meeting of the Order's Foundation, they voted to continue support of this wonderful program. Dame Dawn Barrell, Prior of Georgia is our contact. Chevalier Travis Bryan of Texas has offered to take a leadership role in this project. If you would like to help or have any ideas for support, contact Chevalier Travis Bryan
